Join us for a week of satisfying hand tool work as we hand cut some dovetails and build a great little tool tote. Learn techniques for laying out your through and half blind dovetails, the signature joint of woodworking. You'll get practice sawing and chiseling before taking on this project, but you will see how anyone can learn. It's a matter of time spent at the bench practicing. Learn techniques for accurate sawing and learn the secret of chopping out your dovetails using the power of the wedge.

We'll get time during the week to go over chisel and scraper sharpening and to get practice with hand planes as we prep our material for assembly. You can customize your tool box with sweet little interior boxes or compartments for all your tools. Then design and make a steam bent tool handle. Steam bending is a centuries old technique that you can use for your own designs with ease. It takes some simple prep work, a well built chamber, and a steam source. We'll get practice bending several small pieces before taking on the tool box handle. Very cool stuff to play with

Finally we'll attach our handle and put a finish on a tool box you will have and use for years with pride. Come and join us for the fun.

This is a Masterworks Class with Gary Rogowski. It qualifies as a prerequisite course for our Mastery Program.
