There is nothing better than building stuff for your shop. And making bench tools that you need, are built well, and are pretty all at the same time is a gift to yourself. Join us in this class to build a variety of different tools and jigs. Here are some of the tools we will make:

Winding sticks: Straight edges used for checking surfaces for flat and true like bench tops.  These are great to have and with their inlay, so pretty.

Shooting board: Shoot/ plane edges and ends of boards. Saw boards to length. A very handy jig at the bench.

Mallet: Make a small plane tuning mallet or a beast to pound on mortises. Can’t have too many hammers at the bench.

Dovetail gauge: Mark out your dovetails quickly with this simple gauge. Quick and simple to use for lay-out.

Angle gauge: Lay out any angle easily for mortising, drilling, and sawing. Super useful.

Wooden hand plane: Make your own bench plane. Nothing is as cool as hand planing with a plane you’ve made. Once you decide on the size of hand plane you want to make, we’ll purchase Hock plane irons made specially for this type of shop made plane.
